Step 1: Choose a log size
The size of your log set should be appropriate to your fireplace using the following guidelines:

Measure your fireplace taking the front width (A), the rear width (B) and the depth (C).

Use the log set size that meets the fireplace's minimum dimensions.

"A" - Minimum 2" to 6" on each side of the nominal set size. In other words, if you are planning to use a 24" log set, the front opening dimension of your fireplace (A) should be at least 28".

"B" - Not less than nominal set size. So if you are going to use a 24" log set, the rear dimension of your fireplace (B) should be at least 24" wide.

"C" - Minimum 12" to 14" (16" to 18" for see-through fireplaces).

Be careful when measuring a Pre-Fab fireplace. You will typically need a 36" fireplace (A dimension) for a 24" log set.

Step 2: Select a burner
The burner must match the log size that you have selected. Pick a burner series based on the systems below.

PETERSON G4 BURNER: The G4 Glowing Ember Burner System produces an authentic glowing ember bed and dancing flames that cascade throughout the log set, displaying a real, wood-burning fire experience. The G4 Glowing Ember Burner features steel construction and is coated with a black heat-resistant paint that withstands the burner's 65,000 BTU (50,000 for 18'' - 20'') emissions.

PETERSON G45 BURNER: The G45 Triple T-Burner system offers a T-shaped, additional front burner emphasizing the front ember presentation and puts more depth to the flame. You will see more glowing embers and a small row of flames in the front with this burner, intensifying more realism for your fireplace. This burner is compatible with most Real-Fyre log styles and controls.

Step 3: Choose a valve control
You will need to choose one of the valves listed below to complete your gas log set.

• The Peterson RealFyre Safety Pilot Kit (5RP-SPK26) is a standing pilot system that offers manual variable flame control. It features a low profile build and includes a heat shield. The Peterson SPK-26 Safety Pilot System is compatible with most RealFyre vented burners.
• Real Fyre APK-11 Remote On/Off Pilot System (5RP-APK11) allows you to control your system using a remote control, wall switch, or the manual knob on the burner system. This system does not have variable flame height control, presenting the flame always at the same height. The remote is included.
• The Peterson RealFyre Automatic Variable Flame Pilot Kit (5RP-APK15) permits flame height and heat output adjustment with an included remote control.
