The Argentina flag consists of 3 horizontal bands. The upper and lower bands are light blue while the center band is white. A yellow sun with a face appears in the center of the white band in some versions of the flag. The yellow sun was not added to the original design until 1818. The flag of Argentina was created by Manual Belgrano and was first raised at the city of Rosario in 1812.
