Love mangoes? You aren't alone. In fact, mango is the most commonly consumed fruit in the world. It's also the national fruit of India, Pakistan and the Philippines, and counts for nearly half of all tropical fruits grown globally. To put it mildly, people (lots of them) love mangoes.

Here, our own mango infatuation was cultivated around 1982 or '83 (who can remember anymore), during a tea-buying excursion to northern India. At that time, mangoes were something of a rarity in North American supermarkets, so to eat one was a treat. As we wound our way through tea country, we were offered freshly cut mango as a pick-me-up practically everywhere we stopped. The experience blew us away, and the memory has stayed with us ever since.

Flash forward a number of decades. One day while experimenting, our Master Blender began reminiscing about the fruit he'd eaten all those years ago. His co-blender suggested making a batch of mango flavored green tea matcha to recreate the feeling. A sample was sent to the tasting room for evaluation, and as you're about to discover, the results were outstanding.

Warm and full-bodied, Organic Mango Matcha offers all the juicy character of mango, layered over thick, rich notes of ground green tea. An incredible cup for sipping away an afternoon, dreaming of warmer climes.

    • Caffeine content: Medium - This tea contains natural caffeine found in the L. Camellia Sinensis family. Caffeine quickly becomes soluble in very hot water. If you wish to reduce the caffeine level in this tea, briefly rinsing the tea leaves in extremely hot water will reduce the caffeine content between 25-50% with only a minor effect on taste.

Antioxidant Content: Very High - When consuming matcha you actually consume all the tea leaves. Scientific testing in Japan has indicated that on account of this fact the antioxidant benefit of matcha can be up to 5-9 greater then with normal green tea consumed in the conventional manner.
