    SkeeterVac Mosquito Traps replacement filter.

    Determining if your Skeetervac filter needs to be changed:

    Remove the filter and inspect it. The filter will be a shiny brass color if it is new or has been used very little and it will appear dull or discolored if the filter is dirty or clogged.

    Assuming the engine will not start before removing the filter, you can test the filter by detaching the regulator hose from the engine and removing the filter (the filter is about the size of a pencil eraser). Reattach the regulator hose and try to start the engine. If it starts then the filter indeed needs to be replaced and you can shut it back down.

    Filter Replacement Instructions

    • Turn off the propane on the cylinder.
    • Disconnect the regulator from the propane tank.
    • Filter is located where the gas line meets with the engine.
    • Disconnect gas line from the engine (unscrew the nut).Once gas line is loose pull to disconnect.
    • Remove fuel filter by pulling out of the engine fitting.
    • Place clean fuel filter into the engine fitting (open end must face toward the gas line).
    • Reconnect the gas line to the engine fitting.
    • Reconnect the regulator to the cylinder.
    • Turn gas on at the cylinder. Perform a leak test check at the cylinder and engine connection to make sure everything is connected properly.
