Did you know?ÿSpain discontinued its compulsory military service for males in Dec. 31, 2001. Training for this mandatory stint culminated with the young conscripts pledging the “oath to the flag.” A Spanish silent documentary film focusing on this ceremony was made in 1916.
The "Jura de Bandera" was the oath sworn to the Spanish flag by conscripts at the end of military service. The silent documentary film "Juras de Bandera" was made in 1916 by Spanish filmmaker Antonio de Padua Tramullas (1880-1961).
